The genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David: Abraham fathered Isaac who fathered Jacob who fathered Judah and his eleven brothers. Judah fathered Perez, who fathered Hezron, who fathered Ram, who fathered Amminadab, who fathered Nashon. And from Nashon came Salmon, who fathered Boaz, who fathered Obed, who fathered Jesse, the father of King David. David fathered Solomon, who fathered Rehoboam, who fathered Abijah, who fathered Asa. From Asa came Jehoshaphat, and from him came Joram. Then came Uzziah, who fathered Jotham. Jotham fathered Ahaz, who fathered Hezekiah, who fathered Manasseh who fathered Amon, who fathered Josiah, who fathered Jehoachin. (Jeconiah is the second name.) From the exile came Shealtiel, then Zerubabbel, then Abiud, then Eliakim, then Azor. Azor fathered Zadok, who fathered Achim, who fathered Eliud, who fathered Eleazar, and from Eleazar came Matthan, who came Joseph, the husband of Mary. From Joseph came Jesus Christ our Lord. That is the Genealogy of Jesus Christ.
Lesson: Jesus is God's greatest gift to us. Because of Him, we can have forgiveness, hope, and eternal life. He loves us more than we can imagine.
