📯 Joshua and the Battle of Jericho

Now Jericho was closed inside and outside because the people of Canaan were scared of Joshua and the people of Israel. None went out, and none went in. God said, “See, I have given Jericho into your hand, with its king and mighty men of valor. You will march around the city, all men of war going around the city once. Thus shall you do for six days. 7 priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. On the 7th day, you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets. And when they make a long blast with the rams’ horns, all the men shall shout and the city will fall. Joshua might have been confused, because how could a shout just make the strongest walls on earth fall? Well, that was a test. Joshua did obey, though. Joshua obeyed. Joshua and his men did everything God commanded them. That was the right thing to do. Because when you obey God, God can do amazing things through you.

Part 2

We pick up from when Joshua obeys. Joshua and his men marched around the city six times once each day. After the six days were over, Joshua and his men got up early so they could march seven times. Then, the priests blew the trumpets of rams’ horns, and, the men shouted. Surprisingly, the walls fell! All the men went straight in. But, the two spies who had gone to Rahab’s home went and took Rahab out of the destruction. Lessons: Always trust and obey God. He can do amazing things through you if you obey!
