The Life of Christ

The Whole Story of Jesus Part 1: Jesus Is Born A long time ago, an angel named Gabriel visited a girl named Mary. He said, “God chose you. You are going to have a baby, and His name will be Jesus. He will be God’s Son.” Mary and her husband Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem. When they got there, there was no room for them in the inn, so baby Jesus was born in a stable and laid in a manger. That night, angels appeared to shepherds in a field and said, “Good news. A Savior is born today.” The shepherds went to see Him. Later, wise men followed a bright star to bring Jesus gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Part 2: Jesus Grows Up Jesus grew up in Nazareth with Mary and Joseph. He was kind and smart. As a boy, He went to the temple and talked with teachers, and they were amazed at how much He understood. When Jesus was about 30 years old, He went to the Jordan River and was baptized by His cousin John. The sky opened, and God’s voice said, “This is My Son, and I love Him.”

Part 3: Jesus Teaches and Does Miracles Jesus began traveling and teaching people about God’s kingdom and God’s love. He told stories called parables to help people understand. Jesus also did many miracles: He turned water into wine at a wedding. He fed 5000 people with five loaves of bread and two fish. Everyone ate and there was food left over. He healed sick people. Blind people could see. People who could not walk could walk. He calmed a big storm on the sea with just His words. He walked on water, and Peter walked on water with Him for a little while. He brought His friend Lazarus back to life.

Part 4: The Last Week Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey and many people cheered, “Hosanna.” At the Last Supper with His 12 disciples, Jesus broke bread and shared a cup. He said, “Do this to remember Me.” That night, one of His disciples, Judas, betrayed Him. Soldiers came and arrested Jesus.

Part 5: The Cross and the Empty Tomb Jesus was put on trial even though He had done nothing wrong. He was nailed to a cross. While on the cross, Jesus said, “Father, forgive them.” Jesus died and was placed in a tomb. Three days later, the tomb was empty. Jesus was alive. He appeared to His friends and talked with them. He said, “Do not be afraid. I am with you always.” After that, Jesus went back to heaven. He promised to send the Holy Spirit to help and be with His people. Jesus came to show God’s love, to save us, and to be with us forever.

Lesson: Jesus is God's greatest gift to us. Because of Him, we can have forgiveness, hope, and eternal life. He loves us more than we can imagine.
